Dragon Age: Origins Details Rain Down After Major Explosion
Bioware released some new information today about its long-in-development RPG Dragon Age: Origins. We’ve got details about the game’s combat system, story, and release date. Take a peek inside for the most explosions and dragons this side of a 70s van.
Billed as the spiritual successor to Baldur’s Gate, Dragon Age: Origins will be featuring a combat system that pits characters against hoardes of foes in large-scale battles. The game will encourage players to string attacks together into “spell combos,” combining effects and creating new spells out of old ones. Bioware also promises “deep customization,” giving characters control over the development of their characters spells, skills, and abilities.
As for the game’s story, Dragon Age: Origins will feature a prelude that will help define your characters’ place in the world. The prelude will determine where and when players begin the game, as well as who they are and how the world responds to them. Bioware also promises a storyline that lets players decide who to ally themselves with, and who to destroy.
Dragon Age: Origins is currently scheduled for a release on the PC in early 2009.
